as people look at his record and they imagine him debating obama, obama's going to laugh at him. obama's going to say, i developed obama care based on romney care. i brought your staff into the white house in order to develop it. we have to look at what kind of choice do we want to offer the country? i think a reagan conservative who has been consistently for lower taxes, smaller government, more economic growth, has a better chance. >> meanwhile, mr. speaker, rick santorum is taking issue with your characterization of junior partner in congress. he said that you sat around when he put his reputation out to perform congress. he said, i think that shows who has the courage to stand up and fight. your response? >> it's hard for the speaker of the house to sit on the sideline. i had to schedule the things he stood up for. i had to be involved with bill clinton to get his signature. normally the speaker of the house has some role in those things happening. rick and i will be competitors. that's fine. we have different tracks to get here. i like him. i think he's a very solid person.

you have to do them. [ applause ] after debating the issue privately for a few days, the white house has decided not to release a photo of osama bin laden's corpse. obama decided today that he will not release it because he fears that it could spark a violent backlash, plus he was afraid of what perez hilton might draw on it. and i can understand that. some people believe we have a right to see it and i can understand that point of view, too. so, because i think there has to be some middle ground, i think i came up with a good compromise. this is a photo of a watermelon with a beard. hopefully this will give you an idea of what the real photo might look like without getting anyone upset. [ laughter ] details continue to emerge, describing what bin laden's life was like leading up to when we got him. he was living in that compound with nine women and 23 children. sounds like he was shooting a reality show for tlc. reporters, this is interesting, they discovered small marijuana plants planted on the perimeter of his land. maybe that's why he was so hard to find. he was probably touring
